The 7th installment of the Keith Haring foundation x Medicom Toy collaboration has arrived. For the 7th edition, the Japanese toymaker has opted to highlight Haring’s Mickey Mouse / Disney illustrations to the Bearbrick.
The Bearbrick is entirely monochromatic, covered with an array of quirky patterns, like squiggly lines, swirls and polka-dots, a signature of Haring’s style. But unlike most other works by Ketih Haring, this particular one features finer detail. A psychedelic depiction of Mickey Mouse appears throughout the print, showing warped ears, round gleaming eyes, a smiling expression and a polka-dotted shirt. Haring originally made the artwork using ink on paper — the piece is from 1982 and remains untitled.
